"Platypuses" is actually the correct plural form of the noun platypus, because the word is of Greek origin. "Platypi" is an incorrect plural based on the assumption that the word platypus comes from Latin. "Platypodes" is also a rare but correct plural form of platypus.
Interestingly, the same goes for the word octopus - the plural is "octopuses" or "octopodes", not "octopi".
