Majestic, awe-inspiring, tranquil, powerful, beautiful... These are only some of the adjectives one could use to describe mountains. Mountains can make people feel wonder and awe for the God Who created them, and they can also make a person feel very small and insignificant - just a tiny little speck next to the monstrosity and grandeur of most mountains!
Compared to the rest of the world, Australia's mountains are more like large hills. Our highest peak, Mount Kosciuszko in NSW, is only 2,228m (7,310 feet) tall - that's almost four times shorter than Mount Everest. However, Australia's mountains are still beautiful!

Written in 1921 by William Sidney Gwynn Williams (1896-1978), the song we've been listening to at Willow Ranch Studio this month comes from "Two Songs of the Welsh Mountains". It is the first of the "two songs", and is called "My Little Welsh Home" (the second song is called "I Hear a Shepherd's Pibgorn"; a pibgorn is a traditional Welsh wind instrument).

The lyrics of "My Little Welsh Home" speak of a nostalgia and homesickness for the Welsh mountains and a childhood home.
